Hello!

Thanks for being here, my name is Holly and I started Greenleaf Design, LLC in 2019 so that I could be involved in every part of the design process, including education and outreach work. I work with private landowners, businesses, nonprofits, and state and local governments to design, implement, and communicate ecologically-based landscape design solutions to benefit the health and wellbeing of people, plants, soils, water, and wildlife.

I specialize in native plantings, shoreland restoration (lakes and rivers), green stormwater infrastructure (e.g., rain gardens), illustration, and other landscape visualization and graphic design work. Natural patterns and processes are my inspiration and the nexus for beautiful and resilient landscapes that provide clean water, air, food, shelter, biodiversity, and delight in the ever-changing colors, textures, flavors, scents, and critters of a living landscape.

I was born and raised as a farmer and gardener in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. I studied Ecological Landscape Design, Sustainable Horticulture, and Studio Art as an undergraduate and graduate student at the University of Vermont, earning my Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Master of Science in Plant and Soil Science. I have been working in the landscape and horticulture industry for over a decade.
